At the centre of the work rests a Japanese maple seed pod, easily overlooked.
While observing it, I was struck by the quiet enormity held within something so small. Its form appears delicate, almost weightless, yet within it exists the possibility of future maples that may one day colour the world.
The pod also carries a kind of necessary vulnerability. It must eventually release, open, and let go for new life to continue beyond it.
The piece reflects on the quiet power held inside vulnerable things — and how release, rather than permanence, allows life to continue.
